Quavo & Takeoff - Hotel Lobby (XOTB Remix)
Superstar DJ Xave on the Beat drops off a luxurious R&B mix of Quavo & Takeoff’s prized record “Hotel Lobby” from their duo project under the moniker Unc & Phew, Only Built for Infinity Links.
Xave swaps out the trunk-rattling Murda Beatz track for a beautiful jazzy instrumental produced by London on da Track, Slimwav, Remey Williams, and Boobie Robinson that was originally composed for Summer Walker & Ari Lennox on their collaboration “Unloyal” from Summer’s Still Over It studio album.
Xave had this to say about the surreal timing of the creation of his remix:
“I had been listening to "Hotel Lobby" on literal repeat for over a week when I decided to blend a mix together. I chose the luxury R&B sounds of "Unloyal" produced by some great guys for Ari & Summer. Because the Migos sound good over anything, especially R&B... they should lean into that more.
I originally uploaded this mix to my YouTube on October 29, 2022, only a few days before Takeoff's homegoing, so the coincidence is quite poignant. Hearing his vocals bounce over this beautiful instrumental with the saxophones to close it out is very pleasant.”
The track indeed adds to the cultural conversation about how members of the Migos could have a solid career in almost any genre of music, namely R&B.
